The business unit and team
The Senior Manager Operational Excellence and Improvement will lead a small team of specialists at the Pfizer Logistic Center Zaventem. The scope of work focuses around Pfizer’s Intercompany Operations activities within the Logistic Centers supporting the global supply chain. The role is responsible for for the operational management and improvement of the Intercompany Operations Logistic Center’s management system and for providing conceptual and practical leadership. Strategy development and deployment through IMEX methodology in collaboration with key stakeholders is a key responsibility together with KPI management and improvement actions. The role oversees and manages key projects in and across the Logistic Centers.
The Position
- Challenges and improves the core process’ in the operations to ensure long term competitiveness from an end to end perspective,
- Maintains and develops the operations visual management,
- Leads the creation of a sustainable work environment where each colleague clearly understands the need of continuous improvement and sees it as one of the main responsibilities of each and every position,
- Jointly and/or independently leads and/or facilitates project work streams, including coordination of cross-functional activities,
- Is accountable for KPI’s/ORM generation and facilitation in the Intercompany Operations group,
- Ensures strategy development and deployment through IMEX methodology in collaboration with key stakeholders, including implementation of companywide initiatives,
- Focuses on transformation of the Intercompany Operations Logistic Centers from transactional focus to customer service focus,
- Is a leader in standard work,
- Focuses on continuous improvement program in close collaboration with Global Supply Chain OpEx organisation,
- Ensures compliance standards, including GMP and GDP are adhered to in the team and is ambassador in this area.
- This is a people manager role to lead a team of 2 specialists supporting continuous improvement in the broad sense.
- Location: Zaventem (Belgium). For this position we do not offer relocation.

- Knowledge and coaching skills in the areas of Continuous Improvement and workflow optimization in a transactional environment,
- At least Six Sigma green belt and preferable lean green belt,
- Positive leadership with emphasis on matrix leadership.
- Education:Master’s Degree, University Degree or equivalent through experience
- Experience:budget management, project management, working in international and multifunctional organisation, people management
- Languages: English (mandatory)
