Your role:In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing the manufacturing processes, capital investments, methods, tools, automation, process, and equipment introduction (study -> implementation) in the Sintered Metal department. You understand and analyze all process parameters and divide them into constants and variables, with the goal to transform all variables into constants to obtain a consistent stable process.Your goal is the efficient and safe production of high-quality products at the lowest possible cost. To reach this goal you work closely together with the maintenance engineer, colleague process engineer, quality engineer, tooling engineer, production team, suppliers, and contractors.Responsibilities:
  • You are responsible for the technical/economical (payback) evaluation at the purchase of machinery/ tooling/ automation projects,
  • Coordinate and initiate off-line sessions and training (on the job) for team members, supervisors and maintenance employees,
  • Perform method study of operator tasks as input for the Standard Work instruction sheets and balancing of operator workload over a combination of machines,
  • Establish and evaluate the preventive maintenance- and TPM instructions. (TPM: Total Productive Maintenance) in cooperation with maintenance,
  • Submit ESRs (estimated service requests) and executes according to plan,
  • Establish and drive improvement plans for equipment uptime,
  • Provide input to the development and cost estimation of new products, changes to existing products, modifications to production processes, equipment, and methods on available equipment,
  • Submit CAR’s and executes according to plan when approved (CAR: Capital Approval Request) for improvement projects,
  • Introduce, evaluate, and accept standard equipment in his plant provided by AME in alignment with Safety, Quality, and Maintenance,
  • Issues proposals regarding capacity planning for short and long-term investments with corresponding manpower in cooperation with the Technical Expert,
  • You are responsible for the purchased or modified machinery to comply with current safety regulations,
  • You are responsible for continuous improvement (improving KPI’s of the plant) and ensures that produced parts meet quality requirements,
  • You are responsible for the continuous efforts towards constantly stable process parameters, reducing variation and ensuring production parts meet the quality,
  • Monitor the safety of the proceedings and improves where necessary,
  • Ensure local machine cycle materializes per TEN guidelines thereby at all times ensuring safety rules are met,
  • Train local people in the use of standard equipment.
What will make you successful:
  • Industrial engineer (electro)mechanics ,
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience,
  • Fluent in English,
  • Good command of Dutch,
  • Familiar with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems,
  • PLC-knowledge,
  • Good knowledge of materials,
  • Willing to learn and studious,
  • Communicative,
  • Sense of urgency: act quickly under hectic circumstances,
  • Stress resistant,
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability,
  • Continuously focused on improvement,
  • Quality-orientated,
  • Knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, MS-project, PowerPoint).
