Job DescriptionSmart Plant Project:Carmeuse has started the implementation of an ambitious digitalization journey, Smart Plant, to improve the overall operational efficiency of the manufacturing plants.To help us in this implementation, we are looking for a passionate and committed OT Instrumentation and Project Engineer to join our newly formed Smart Plant team.Your Role:As the Smart Plant OT Instrumentation and Project Engineer, you are responsible for designing and implementation of plant automation systems, various data acquisition system and IIOT. You are also responsible for identifying the gaps between the as-is state of plant automation and data acquisition system and future state defined by business process owner (BPO) or the MES ((Manufacturing Execution System) functionalities.You actively contribute to the implementation of the DFL (Data Fabric Layer) solution and integration with other applications like the MES) and overall digital transformation of manufacturing by creating new data sources and plant automation systems on the plant floor.You are training and mentoring colleagues and team members.You work in an international environment and will be in contact with people of different nationalities in cross-functional teams (IT, OT, Process, H&S Manager, etc.).Your challenges:
  • Support the BPOs (Business Process Owner) and actively contribute to architecting, implementing, and integrating solutions focused on tracking, analyzing, and improving the manufacturing process of Carmeuse
  • Support design of plant automation and data acquisition systems and IIOT including field instrumentation
  • Support implementation of data flows from the sensors to the DFL
  • Manage equipment purchase, installation and commissioning
  • Coordinate project activities
  • Lead and direct meetings with other team members and suppliers
  • Plant facing interaction and technical communication (on site information gathering, technical surveys, commissioning and other on-site activities related to plant automation, process instrumentation and IIOT)
  • Create documentation including project engineering notes, project proposals, project design documentation, case studies, requests for quotation and more.
Your profile:
  • Successful completion of B.Sc. Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Industrial Control System Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years working experience with industrial control system, data acquisition systems
  • Understanding and functional knowledge of PLC’s, medium and low voltage systems, three phase power distribution, HMI/SCADA systems and field instrumentation
  • Experience with electrical power monitoring and management system, predictive and condition-based maintenance systems is not needed but considered as plus
  • Experience in DFL and MES implementations is not needed but considered as plus
  • Familiarity with industry standard ANSI/ISA-95 is not needed but considered as plus
  • Teamwork and collaboration capabilities
  • English – fluent spoken and written
  • Remote function + presence on site as requested
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.
The Team:You will join the European Smart Plant team, an dedicated team consisting of BPOs and subject matter experts of various fields such as IT, OT, maintenance,supply chain, quality, production and H&S working together to address the challenges of digital transformation.Your manager will be Ladislav Vastag:Ladislav is our OT BPO.
