At KBC, a leading bank-insurance player in the Benelux and Central-East Europe, we are currently looking for young, talented, result-driven people that are ready to onboard on the journey of the Financial Markets traineeship. During a 18 months period, you will be immersed in the fascinating world of the Global Financial Markets.

The Traineeship is hosted by KBC Financial Markets – Who are we?

KBC Financial Marketsis KBC’s connection with the leading financial centers in the world. Our activities include foreign exchange and interest rate hedging solutions for clientele in the form of financial institutions, corporates, SMEs and other KBC divisions. We also develop and distribute investment and employee benefit products requested by our retail and professional clients. We are known in the Market for our Central European currencies expertise. Currently, we are heavily investing in expanding our professional final investor client base.

Our dealing rooms in Brussels, London, Prague, Budapest, Bratislava and Sofia work closely together to achieve all this.

Through 3 accelerated rotations, the Traineeship offers you the opportunity to take on different roles in the various areas of corporate and investment banking: Sales to our Institutional clients (Asset Managers, Insurers, Hedge Funds…), Sales to our Corporate and SME clients, FX trading, bond trading, interest rate trading, market research, product development and quant work. In every function, you will be able to learn from and work together with seasoned professionals. You will be helped and monitored by very experienced and skilled colleagues.

Besides on-the-job learning, you will get the chance to turn your ideas into reality in several projects, to take on increasing responsibility and to deliver work that is of true value to our business. In doing so, you will help to digitally shape and transform KBC’s Corporate and Investment banking future from day one.

Jouw troeven?
  • You have a keen interest in financial services and in the evolutions taking place within the global financial markets, which you can back-up with studies, professional experience or extracurriculars;
  • Proficiency in data analytics and keen interest in technology and digitalization;
  • You have a flexible mindset and are willing to take on the challenge to try several different roles & functions within a relatively short time span;
  • You want to get things done and want to do them right from the first time.
  • You have outstanding analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, which you are always looking to further develop;
  • You are fluent in English or Dutch;
  • You hold a Master’s degree; an additional Master’s is a plus;
  • You can demonstrate an excellent academic track record complemented by meaningful extracurricular activities
  • You have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience.
