Our client in Ispra, Italy is one of the biggest science hubs in Europe.
It employs approximately 3.000 top-notch researchers, engineers and scientists eager to resolve challenges and provide knowledge in order to support EU policies in a variety of areas from agriculture and food security, to environment and climate change, as well as nuclear safety, security and growth.
At the moment, they are looking for a Web Operation Manager at JRC Brussels, to work remotely.

Description:

  • Maintenance of a detailed site topology.
  • Staging of web sites.
  • Installation and support of web sites
  • Creation and management of wiki or collaborative sites
  • Implementation of social and collaborative solutions
  • Ensure coherence of the logical and physical structure of web sites, web pages and of navigation methods
  • Management, implementation and maintenance of open source, federated, distributed platforms for collaboration and knowledge management;
  • Management, implementation and maintenance of proprietary content management systems including DRUPAL, Confluence Wiki;
  • Knowledge of web design: user-centred design, usability, interaction and interface design;
  • Web layout and graphic production: graphic and photo production and editing, CSS, Javascript
Qualifications


Required experience:


  • Bachelor degree+minimum 4 years of professional experience in IT
  • Good knowledge of web environment
  • Good knowledge of wiki, collaborative sites and social networks.
  • Proven conceptual understanding of content structuring, storage, access and presentation elements
  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication.
  • Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.
  • Able to cope with the fast changing technologies used in web site management.
  • Able to cope with the needs of multi-language site deployment.
  • The consultants have to be fluent in English. French is an asset.

The consultant is expected to have good knowledge of:

  • The European Commission’s corporate IT solutions
  • Drupal platform
  • Confluence platform and add-ons (macros)
  • Open Social
  • Online open source, federated, privacy-safe collaborative tools, such as CryptDrive,
  • PeerTube, mastodon, etc.
