To support the growth of our Biorefinery business unit, we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Analytical Biochemical Lab Technician / Researcher to join our team and play a crucial role in our research and development efforts.

Job Summary:

The Analytical Biochemical Lab Technician / Researcher will be responsible for performing a variety of analytical tests and experiments, with a strong focus on lipid, sugar, and protein analysis. This role requires expertise in HPLC, mass spectrometry (MS), and various spectroscopic techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of biochemical principles and laboratory procedures, as well as experience working in a startup or similar dynamic setting.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize analytical methods for the quantification and characterization of lipids, sugars, and proteins.
• Perform routine and non-routine analyses using HPLC, MS, and other spectroscopic techniques (e.g., UV-Vis, FTIR, Raman).
• Prepare samples for analysis, including extraction, purification, and derivatization.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including HPLC, MS, and spectrometers.
• Analyze and interpret data, and prepare reports summarizing results.
• Contribute to the development and validation of new analytical methods.
• Collaborate with other scientists and researchers to support project goals.
• Contribute to a safe and organized laboratory environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Proven experience (at least 2 years) in analytical biochemistry, with a focus on lipid, sugar, and protein analysis.
• Strong hands-on experience with HPLC, MS (LC-MS, GC-MS), and spectroscopic techniques.
• Experience with sample preparation techniques for biochemical analyses.
• Knowledge of data analysis and interpretation software.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an English-speaking environment.
• Experience working in a startup environment is a plus.
