Business Analysis Specialist

• Develops effective relationships with business units, divisions or groups of users
• Ensures required business services are identified, developed and supported to the satisfaction of the business unit/division
• Establishes domain specific business knowledge and acts as the main point of contact for business support
• Acts as a liaison between IT development and design and the business units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems
• Evaluates new applications against business functional and non-functional requirements
• Evaluates new initiatives and evolving business requirements, and recommends appropriate alternatives and/or enhancements to current business solutions and systems
• Prepares communications and makes business presentations on business solutions and system enhancements and/or alternatives

• Responsible for translating business requirements and business processes into detailed structured documentation and if necessary, for managing requests for changes to the specifications
• Has sound knowledge of the organization’s business services, business processes and systems with expertise in some of these. Understands current technology advances and IT capabilities.
• Works mostly on the analysis phase of projects and may work alone on small scale standard projects .
• May provide support in the preparation and execution of testing.

• As part of a project team, contribute to deliver new systems or modification to existing ones systems through the process of business analysis:
• Understands the needs of the internal and/or externals clients, mainly through interviews;
• Identifies, describes and validates business solutions to meet end users requirements
• Documents business requirements in a structured form that can be translated into functional and technical specifications.
• Considers non-functional requirements such as computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
• Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.
• Considers the impact on internal teams and external clients.
• Assists in determining which business requirements can and should be automated and how these automated functions are integrated into the rest of the business and IT processes.
• Facilitates communication between business and IT communities
• Incumbents are specialist of the business analysis techniques and methodologies. They give advices on an incidental basis.
• Validates functional designs derived from own business analysis.
• May provide support to the preparation and execution of the testing phases of projects / maintenances and during the roll-out phase (e.g. client documentation).
• Analyses moderately complex business requirements, processes and IT systems. Assignments are well defined

You have :

• experience as Business/functional Analyst in the financial services and/or banking industry
• knowledge of the Post Trade business domain
• critical thinking skills
• flexibility to quickly adapt in case of unexpected change of priority
• excellent communication skills (listening, writing and presenting)
• organisational skills
• capacity to work autonomously and in close team collaboration
• appetite for understanding the IT world as much as the Business world

On top of the usual BA profile requirements, we want to stress the following :
- knowledge in Settlement is a must

• capable of digging into technical aspects of application

• technical understanding of data flows between applications/platforms

• capable of working alone if needed but also a good communicator

• sense of prioritization

• affinity/interest to work with the Agile methodology and ceremonies (but also the classical Waterfall methodology to interact with certain teams)

• capable of interacting with technical people

• screen modelling/mock-up/user-friendliness knowledge

• understanding STP/reporting processes and routing of messages
