Creative Project Manager (Hybrid)

PreviewLabs specializes in the creation of software prototypes across various game development technologies. Our expertise spans from PC and mobile games to educational games, simulations, data visualization, and XR. Our client portfolio includes a diverse array of industries from prominent corporations such as Activision Blizzard Media, esteemed academic institutions such as Yale University, and numerous startups.

We are looking for a full-time Creative Project Manager to oversee and manage prototyping projects from beginning to end.

Responsibilities

• Engaging in conversations with clients to understand their vision, actively recommending ideas to help shape their vision when needed.
• Creating and maintaining project proposals and Prototype Design Documents (PDDs), or delegating and overseeing the writing of PDDs to other team members.
• Planning, organizing, and directing project work, including estimating projects with programmers and managing their work schedule.
• Coordinating project activities to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
• Testing prototypes throughout the development process to ensure they meet quality standards and the client’s vision.
• Keeping the client updated on project progress and removing obstacles for programmers to ensure smooth progress.
• Facilitating effective communication with clients and stakeholders, and reporting insights and recommendations gained during the prototyping process.
• Organizing software quality assurance activities together with third parties and managing paperwork for subcontractor and third-party collaborations.
• Preparing status reports, tracking project resources, and maintaining documentation on internal processes and procedures.
• Scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, organizing project-related events, and contributing to software developer recruitment efforts.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to build a mental image of the project.
• Strong organizational abilities to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to empathize with clients to understand their excitement about their projects and share this enthusiasm with colleagues.
• Passion for gaming and experience playing a variety of video games.

Bonus points for:

• Previous work experience in project management or similar roles.
• Previous experience with game development, game prototyping, or game design.
• Knowledge of tools used in technical art production.
• Interest in game design.

Practical information

• Full-time job, indefinite duration contract.
• Hybrid position: a minimum of 2 days of work from our office in Wetteren.
• The candidate can start as soon as possible.
