Mission

Within the Data & Analytics team, the Data & Analytics Engineer is in charge of developing algorithms and pipelines to transform raw data into workable data formats. For this, advanced data processing methodologies and techniques need to be applied.

The mission of the Data & Analytics Engineer is to give easier access to data to both final business users and Data Scientists. To do so he/she needs to understand company’s and client’s objectives and to keep business goals in line when handling large datasets. Due to the specific nature of the task, the Data & Analytics Engineer needs to understand both the Delhaize IT landscape and data models, as well as the data science (and eventual business) objectives.

Responsibilities and objectives

  • Develop, maintain and manage the Data Science framework in collaboration with the data scientists and the IT department.
  • Collect and acquire data from both existing and new sources and make it available for both Data Scientists and final business users.
  • In collaboration with the Data & Analytics Manager and the Business Intelligence department, establish the Data Democracy in the organization
  • Look at all the possibilities to automate (data related) workload throughout the Digital & E-Commerce department and develop the needed automated process to support the business growth.
  • Define the coding standards and make sure they are used by all the people who are working on the Data & Analytics platform. Make sure that correct versioning and documentation system is in place to enable concurrent development and knowledge sharing.
  • Act as an optimal in-between person between the final business users or the data scientists and the IT department.

Required profile

  • Education

o Master in Information Technology or equivalent by experience

o Deep understanding of Data Science / Artificial Intelligence processes and needs

  • Experience

o At least 3 years of experience in similar job

o Proven experience in Big Data / Data Science / Artificial Intelligence environment with experience on MS Azure
