Position Overview

We are seeking a Development Manager within our Digital Transformation Program. Within this program, we are driving towards a One Dstny Operating System (ODOS) supporting Belgian and European operations and managing the replacement of legacy systems with core technology solutions. ODOS is a company-wide initiative aiming to harmonize our customer journeys, product portfolios, and technology across the Dstny Group.

As a Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing a dynamic team of software developers working on our stack to support digital journeys. You will provide the strategic direction, team coordination and technical execution needed to take our SaaS solutions to the next level.

Our current setup consists of several local development teams spread over six countries. Each local team works with their own technologies and stacks, focused on specific market needs. A key challenge in your role will be to integrate these diverse teams into a joint globalization program, leveraging their strengths while developing a new global stack. This requires balancing innovation with maintaining existing local solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and coaching a multidisciplinary team of developers in Belgium, with later possibility across multiple countries.
  • Developing and implementing digital transformation strategies across our product portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other roles such as Functional, Solutions & Enterprise architects to achieve business goals.
  • Collaborate with functional users to optimize usability and process efficiency by automation and simplification.
  • Ensuring high quality standards in software development, including applying best practices in agile methodologies.
  • Overseeing project planning, deadlines, and budgets.
  • Recruitment, training and talent development within the team.
  • Integrating external development teams from our different local countries into the global digitalization program
  • Plan and execute a strategy to maintain local stacks while innovating to a new global stack.

Wat are we looking for...

  • At least 5 years of experience in a managerial role within software development.
  • Experience with SaaS solutions and digital transformation.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern development methodologies and technologies.
  • Strong technical skills in development, microservices, micro-front-ends, front-end and back-end development is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the telecom sector is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, including virtual management, and communication skills.
  • Result-oriented with a passion for innovation.
  • Fluent in Dutch/French and English, other languages are a plus.
