E2 Drivesis a young engineering company active in electric mobility. E2 Drives is specialized in mechanics, electronics, electric motor design and embedded control. In recent years, they developed an innovative and disruptivepowertrainforelectric bikes. This patented technology offers comfort, robustness and performance to the cyclist thanks to its all-in-one and internalautomatic gearboxdesign. E2 Drives mission is to revolutionize the way people are commuting, thanks to its disruptive eBike propulsion system. E2 Drives concluded a partnership withDecathlonand plans to become aebike motor leader in the ten coming years.
E2 Drives released its first generation of motors with Decathlon in 2023 and started working on a second generation to enlarge the eBike motor offer. The tech company is based in Wavre (a nice place in the South-East of Brussels) and can count on a team of more than 20 young, dynamic and smart professionals.
What will be your role?
As the complexity of our projects is increasing, we are looking for a new hardware engineer. You will be responsible for some of the hardware developments, including some embedded software (C/C++) development for prototyping needs. The scope is mostly DC, low voltage (<48V) and medium power (1kW) as well as mixed signals.
You will develop hardware solutions from concepts to manufacturability optimized products, integrated in complex electro-mechanical systems. You will work closely with the other hardware engineers, as well as mechanical and software engineers.
You will be expected to propose innovative solutions to new problems, as well as testing them and making them ready for industrialization.
Your main responsibilities as a hardware engineer:
- Find innovative solutions to complex problems
- Run simulations (SPICE and FEM) to validate ideas
- Design PCBs, including schematics and layout (with Altium Designer)
- Test your designs and make sure they fulfill the requirements
- Analyze the costs, performances and risks of the solutions
What will make you successful?
- Master’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, with at least 3 years of experience in hardware design
- Skills in C / C++ programming are required
- Out of the box and critical thinking
- Knowledge of RF and analog designs is a plus
- Knowledge of power electronics is a plus
- Fluent in English, French is a plus
