Duties And Role

  • Provide technical guidance to subordinate technicians.
  • Support the planning and management of SOSB resources to meet SLA targets and additional commitments to projects.
  • Act as CSU POC for coordination of Service Interruptions with ESOC.
  • Manage local projects in the delivery of assigned services.
  • Assist in execution of CIS budget for local services.
  • Provide technical guidance Briefings to Chain of Command.
  • Provide local crypto and network topology advice to Service Lines as required.
  • Provide local radio and telephone system maintenance guidance and advice.
  • Escalation of incidents to next tier support.
  • Contribute to incident, change, configuration and asset management processes through ITSM toolkit.
  • Liaise with higher tier support for projects, maintenance and procedures.

Requirements

Skill, Knowledge & Experience

  • The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
  • A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post related experience.
  • Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidates particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of this post.
  • Sound knowledge of ITIL processes, with proven experience in at least one of the processes, along with ITIL Foundation Certification.
  • Working knowledge of fibre optic and copper cable installation, testing and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of secure network topology, LAN and WAN systems.
  • Working knowledge of legacy VHF radio technology, TDM Voice networks and VoIP deployment.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP and standard networking and communication protocols.

Desirable Experience and Education:

  • Knowledge of policy, procedures, and organisation of NATO CIS.
  • Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
  • Proven experience leading team engaged in Project Work.
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization.
  • Knowledge and experience leading technical teams.
  • Certified Prince 2 Practitioner.
  • Certified CISCO Network Entry Technician.
