Product Manager - Digital TV

Context

Orange Belgium, the third mobile operator in Belgium, became in 2015 a convergent player by proposing Digital HD TV services and very high speed internet access (>100Mbps). Orange Belgium is now the first “Cable Virtual Network Operator” in the world to propose its own TV & Internet services on its own branded CPE’s using the HFC network from others cable operators. Thanks to innovative & patented technical solutions and a bold commercial approach, Orange Belgium has now more than 380.000 convergent customers.

TV services are a key part of this value proposition and will remain business critical for the coming years despite the evolution in TV customer usages: more on demand, more personalization, more TV on-the-go, more multi-network (DVB-C, FTTH, WiFi, 4G, 5G) . Orange Belgium is launching its third generation of TV solution: a new advanced DVB-C/IP hybrid decoder running on Android TV with a complete future proof new TV infrastructure (TV headend encoding system, encryption, network PVR storage, CDN, Cloud TV backend) and new TV applications (on new TV decoder, for mobile ,tablet web).

Orange Belgium, to pursue these strong ambitions in this exciting TV domain, is looking for a new Team member.

Your mission

• First objective is to do In Life Management of existing TV product & services to improve continuously TV customer experience, support marketing plans and the company’s objectives in terms of product/operational quality, performance & financial efficiency
• Develop & lead roadmap 12 months, TV products & services development, enablers end-to-end from opportunity identification to product launch and then in-life management based on priorities set in the LoB Marketing plan & strategy
• Co-Develop & co lead with engineering team products’ stability and performance tests environment

As Product Manager - Digital TV, you:

• Perform in-life management of existing products & services TV (various TV decoders & OTT apps)
• Manage a quality product performance (KPI) dashboard including Belgian market competitive benchmark
• Drive a Core Team of transversal experts, proposing & implementing product improvements, evaluation, prioritization and planification according to the different business objectives
• Prepare all necessary briefings related to product for Training, Communication & Web Teams
• Interact with Orange Group peers for your Products & Services (best practice sharing, monthly reporting)
• Partner management: manage external partners providing the products & services as third parties, including performance watch, roadmap follow up, billing etc.
• Define & update your Product & Services roadmap, business and functional specs, sustaining the LOB Marketing plan in terms of product P&L and customer experience
• Deliver Products & Services roadmap on 12 months basis
• Propose yearly budget framework aggregating all relevant Capex, Opex elements for your Products & Services
• Deliver new Products & Services with end-to-end responsibility from opportunity identification to product launch
• Deliver the business requirements, consolidating business case, business requirements (incl. business processes, customer journey), risks management plan, project timeline, budget
• Ensure consistency, alignment, and compliance with the local and Group project management processes (TTM)
• Product development follow-up with Project Manager, Suppliers, engineering, Marketing etc.
• Manage Product updates & improvements (Release management)
• Friendly User Testing management / follow-up
• Technology & competition watch

Specific expertise

• Telecom and IT business domain
• Product In Life Management, especially in TV & CPEs
• Expertise in Digital TV products: Set Top Boxes, OTT, CAS & DRM, TV mobile application, Android / IOS OS, Ads management

Your profile

• You have a min. of 4 years university studies (technical school or equivalent by experience), with around 5 years of experience in Product Development & Product Management within Telecom and/or IT
• Project management & Partner management experience
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies (Android / IOS)
• Telecom/IT Products & Services Marketing or equivalent is an asset
• Computer literate – MS Office
