Tessenderlo Group is a Belgium-headquartered chemical company that evolved the recent years in a diversified industrial group, focusing on agriculture, valorizing bio residuals and providing industrial solutions. The group has been divided into 4 operating segments:

• The Agro segment combines their activities in the production, trading and marketing of crop nutrients (liquid crop fertilizers and potassium sulphate fertilizers) and crop protection products.
• The Industrial Solutions segment includes products, systems and solutions for handling, processing and treatment of water, including flocculation and depressants (Dyka)
• The T-Power segment includes the combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) with a 425 MW capacity in Tessenderlo (Belgium). A tolling agreement was concluded with RWE Group until 2026 for the full capacity of the plant.
• Their activities in animal by-product processing are combined in the Bio-valorization segment. This consists ofPB Leiner (the production, trading and sales of gelatines & collagen peptides) and Akiolis (the rendering, production and sales of proteins and fats).

THE PRODUCTION MANAGER

THE VACANCY AND ATTRACTIVENESS OF THE ROLE

PB Leiner have recently decided to merge two production lines (pig skin and bones). The Production Manager who was supposed to take responsibility for this newly created line decided to pursue external opportunities, which is why the position as Production Manager is vacant. The incoming Production Manager will join a worldwide player with the decision centre in Belgium and short decision-making processes.

The incoming Production Manger will have the opportunity to contribute in shaping PB Leiner’s production. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will be responsible for the operational management of the production departments – about 120 blue collars full continuous (3 Production Engineers and 3 White collars depending on the profile)
• Process control, cost, quality, safety, environment and continuous improvement are the essential pillars of your job.
• You drive the change process from 2 separate production departments to 1 production department, whereby you design (maybe this will already be done) and implement a new organizational structure together with all responsible persons of the 2 departments and your MT colleagues
• You build a healthy working environment
• You manage and motivate your direct and indirect employees and manage to get the best out of them by involving them in the company and team objectives, supporting their personal development and guiding them through change processes.
• You keep your finger on the pulse of all operational processes and you enthuse everyone to actively contribute to the development of a high-performance organization.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Solid experience in Production Management is required, preferably in a mature production organization (food, pharma, chemical, Automotive etc) with solid and proven processes.
• You have a good understanding of Chemistry and can trouble shoot on the shop floor if necessary.
• Outstanding people manager who motivates and inspires teams – leading people through change processes. You are an inspiring leader who takes care of their team.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build confidence and trust amongst teammates, peers, subordinates, superiors, unions
• Dutch mother tongue and business fluency in English and French
• Feels confident to work in a matrix structure. Position seats in local Management Team and reports through the global matrix structure
• You like to initiate change processes, have very good conceptual skills and can inspire others for your idea
