R&D project managerAbout John Cockerill Hydrogen
John Cockerill is the world leader in pressurized alkaline electrolysers with development plans involving several Giga-factories across the world. In 2022, John Cockerill delivered more than 150 MW of its large scale electrolysers.
Nature & Scope
Within the R&D department Hydrogen Business Line, you are responsible for planning, coordinating and reporting activities and projects linked to the R&D roadmap. You follow the best practices of Agile project management to ensure the R&D projects meet business objectives and are accomplished on time and within budget.
Main duties
- Acts as a business partner to assist the R&D team to execute on project tasks
- Follows established project management practices, including management of scope, requirements, issues, and risks.
- Develop full scale project plans & facilitate the follow-up of project scope, goals and deliverables
- Manage project budget, plan & schedule timelines & track deliverables
- Consults with project sponsors and reviews project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding, allotment of resources and procedures for accomplishing projects.
- Troubleshoots problems associated with coordination, development, or design of projects.
- Escalates issues when critical risks arise and maintains pulse with project activities to ensure progress.
- Monitor and prepare status reports on project deliverables and any deviation from project plan.
- Coach and facilitate teams on project management Processes, tools and techniques.
- Master’s degree, preferably in an Engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in a technical R&D environment
- Proficiency with MS Office suite and agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA)
- Experience working in a laboratory/research center environment.
- Experience with the specificities of publicly subsidized R&D projects.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance multiple competing priorities within and across multiple projects at the same time.
- Demonstrated success with oral and written communications/presentations, influence and persuasion, results orientation, facilitation, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work within a fast-growing organization.
- Fluency (oral and written) in French and English. Any additional language is an asset
