Job Description

Our client is research center that aims to initiate a digital transformation in the manufacturing industry. They focuses on the following trends: smart, interconnected products & production systems, customized products at the cost of series production, agile, people-oriented production organizations and sustainable products & production systems.

As a Researcher In Dynamic Systems And Control

You participate in different projects, where the project team consists of experts from different backgrounds. You are a technical expert and take the lead in delivering project results. You are expected to provide a technical interpretation of system control-related tasks and ensure that your project results are both industrially relevant and scientifically excellent.

Profile / Requirements

As a researcher in dynamic systems and control:

  • You have a master’s or PhD in engineering sciences and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • You have a research mindset with a focus on applicable technology and industrial relevance
  • Are familiar with a wide range of industrial applications (including robots, autonomous vehicles, 3D printers, hybrid and electric powertrains, looms, etc.)
  • You have an in-depth knowledge of control algorithms and their validation in the lab or in an industrial environment. You can identify a dynamic model of a system and propose and implement the appropriate control strategy. You will make use of both classical technician and more recent data-driven techniques.
  • You have experience with Matlab, Simulink/Simscape, CasADi, simulation software (Comsol, Ansys or similar), Python, etc
  • You are familiar with embedded hardware such as Speedgoat, dSpace, Beckhoff, etc. and are fluent in relevant programming languages (C, C++, Java, ...).
  • You are familiar with other research domains (vision, navigation, robotics, design techniques, ...)
  • You can communicate professionally in both Dutch and English.
