Ready to innovate in audio and sensors processing at NXP?

As a Jr. Machine Learning Engineer,you will explore and implement innovative edge audio and sensor algorithms relying on neural networks. Those algorithms will mainly target devices such as car audio systems, headsets, hearing instruments, home audio and IoT devices.

Your responsibilities

As a Jr. Machine Learning Engineer, you are responsible for:

• Investigate and demonstrate methods for neural network deployment in audio and sensor context
• Investigate the effectiveness of compression methods (pruning, quantization, ...)
• Handle data collection and labelling
• Optimize network architectures to available software and hardware resources of NXP platforms

Your team

You will be part of the CTO Audio Innovation Centre, located in Leuven (Belgium), it is a team of creative audio and sensor signal processing experts. Our mission is to come up with differentiating algorithms and solutions for our NXP businesses. We are targeting applications in a broad range of fields, such as Automotive, Personal Audio, Industrial and IoT.

Your profile

To be successful in this role you have:

• MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equally relevant
• Knowledge of Python (preferably also fluent in Matlab)
• Practical experience with Deep Learning in Python on GPUs
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal/written). Experience in working in/with multi-site and multi-cultural projects/teams.
• Affinity and experience with one of the following topics is a plus: audio/speech processing, embedded processors, software and NN accelerators

Furthermore, you are:

• a natural team player and obsessive to learn and gain experience
• excellent communication skills in English (verbal/written)

Contract: This is a full-time position with a permanent contract. However, we are open to discuss a part-time opportunity as well.
