As Senior Project Definition Manager you will plan and manage the early design stages of strategic projects in a range of global locations. You will assure the design of new facilities meets all defined project objectives for safety, quality, cost and schedule.

Supporting Business Case Development

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

• Planning/ prioritizing the support to business cases across one or more projects/ programmes
• Participate in the User Requirements Brief writing
• Perform feasibility studies and develop concepts for new Projects to establish preliminary cost estimates and schedules for potential projects
• Manage the analysis of production processes and calculations for capacity/ production planning
• Help the business sponsor to complete briefing documents and requests for funding
  

Early Stages Design

• Ensure good integration of any new projects/ programmes in the existing Site Master Plan or help develop new masterplan.
• Ensure that facility design principles (GMP and non GMP items) are correctly applied in the projects
• Organize design reviews to ensure that new technological developments are implemented consistently across projects
• Develop a risk management strategy for the project and to ensure effective identification, monitoring and management of project risks.
  

Basic Design and Handover to Project Execution Teams

• Ensure the completion of the Basic Design deliverables
• Ensure adequate internal and external resources (technical specialists) are in place to support the Basic Design of the new projects.
• Together with the Execution Project Manager and procurement department
• qualify the engineering services providers (engineering offices)
• define the appropriate procurement & contractual strategies
• Ensure the correct hand-over of the Basic Design to the Project Execution Team.
  

Other Support Activities

• Support the development of internal and external project benchmarking.
• Participate to periodic reviews of the GSK standards and guidelines.
  

Why you?

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Masters degree in Engineeting - Project Management
• Significant in-depth knowledge of at least some aspects of capex related design or delivery (e.g. HVAC, Building services, Project Management)
• 10 years of GMP experience within the pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry
