We are searching for a Junior Lead, Network Infrastructure Solutions (NIS) to join!
You will primarily lead and coordinate planned changes at the Enterprise Data Centers (EDCs) and Co-Locations (CoLos), ensuring adherence to standard processes and communications and risk management/mitigation. Work closely with the Regional Network Delivery teams, Network Operations, Network Engineering, and the Information Security team, and may be required to become involved with Incident and Problem Management activities for change related outages, impacting the EDCs and CoLos.
The role will be located at a specific EDC and have main responsibility for that location but may also need to support other EDC locations as part of global project activity and to provide backup and support for fellow team members. This will include developing knowledge of the environments, a good oversight of planned changes and a sense of responsibility and ownership to keep the EDCs fully operational. You will supervise and support EDC Infrastructure projects.
The Global NIS team has responsibility for Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) and Release Management – major recurring initiatives - to ensure Network hardware and software is at current supported levels. Additionally, the team is responsible for Stable and Capacity teams supporting Network Delivery activities.
This role is highly technical and will be responsible for the implementation of sophisticated changes within the Enterprise Data Centers.
Your key responsibilities:
- Provide pre-project consulting, conduct network solution requirements gathering, develop options and alternatives, recommend network solutions, and supervise implementations for EDC Network Infrastructure Delivery activities. Work with Project Managers (e.g. Information Security) and other Global Network Services personnel, especially the Regional Delivery teams and Engineering, act as specialist regarding the Enterprise Data Center portion of solutions. Develop solutions in line with J&J architectural standards and work with Global Engineering team to design non-standard solutions when required.
- Support EDC environments from a Network Infrastructure Delivery perspective to ensure coordination of activities, adherence to standard processes & communications and effective risk assessment & mitigation. Build knowledge and understanding of the environment to become an SME in all aspects of planned Network changes and support other teams in this area. Collaborate with Network Operations on risk assessments and post outage reviews, as required. Develop reporting, recommend improvements and partner with Network Engineering to develop standard methodologies.
- Support TLM & Release Management activities, particularly in respect to the EDC environments.
- Provide support, supervision, and coordination for Network Stable/Capacity teams.
