Solvay is a market leader in hydrogen peroxide, both in market share and technology. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is used mainly by the paper industry to bleach pulp. Its properties are also of interest to many markets, such as chemicals, food, textiles, and the environment.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Peroxides GBU is looking for a WW Controller reporting to the GBU Finance Director.

In this position you’ll be responsible for:
1. Driving the GBU management cycle
  • Responsible of GBU management cycle (monthly closing/analysis, outlook, BFR and Budget)
  • Support and challenge GBU performance, interacting with Business & Operations
  • Prepare GBU worldwide consolidated figures (Actual and Forecast), on the main financials indicators
  • Lead relation and communications with Corporate controlling in management Cycle

2. Supporting Group and GBU initiatives and projects
  • Implement Zero Based Budget Group process (monthly results analysis, anaplan tool support)
  • Key member of the "WeShape" finance project and relations with the Controlling platform
  • Support and challenge project owners identified in the GBU value creation plan (strategy / roadmap)
  • This may also consists in specific investment, disposal, restructuring projects

3. Implementing in the GBU the Group policy and IFRS rules
  • Key GBU contact for Group Accounting and Reporting corporate team
  • GBU compliance, including Transfer price /GBU management fees (with tax)

4. Supporting and Challenging GBU R&I activities and SG&A (global functions)
  • Finance supervision and partnering with the Global GBU R&I activities
  • As well as the SG&A (GBU worldwide functions) and group allocation

5. Supervising headcount in charge of data management

Education and Experience

University degree, preference in Business Administration / Finance
Minimum 5 years experience in Controlling
French / English
Controlling and Business partnering skills
Presentation and communication skills
Finance specific software and IT tools / Excel & Google tools
IFRS understanding
