Job content

As part of the Process Engineering team you areresponsible for all technical and process related matters in the department of Seed Preparation and Solvent Extraction for vegetable oil. The key responsibilities are:

• You are involved in the whole project cycle: from feasibility studies till start-up of the plants;
• You create all engineering documents: basic PFD, sizing & specifications of equipment, heat & mass balances, utilities and consumption, P&ID’s, operating manuals, description of automation, HAZOP studies….
• By doing this you will work in close relation with the Project Managers and will work transversely with other departments of DSB and with external stakeholders: customers, suppliers, certification institutes…
• You will be in charge of improving existing processes and equipment as well as contributing towards development of new designs;
• You will have to align your projects with EHS regulations and issues.

Your profile :

• You hold a MA degree in Electromechanical, Chemical or Bio Engineering;
• You have a first experience working for an engineering department or company in process industry, preferably related to agricultural products;
• You are used to work with engineering documents such as P&ID’s, heat & mass balances and PFD’s and are familiar with mechanical process equipment;
• You are triggered by working on end-to-end projects in an international and multicultural environment;
• You are pro-active and have a self-driven attitude;
• You combine good analytical skills with a solution-oriented mind;
• You are a team player and able to work transversely with other teams;
• You are well organized, able to able to prioritize & meet deadlines;
• You are open to travel for short periods (5% to 10% of the time), representing Desmet Ballestra on site;
• You are fluent in English. You preferably speak French and/or Dutch. Any other language is a plus.
