Job description

Projects are a crucial tool to support our advocacy and the fulfilment of our 2030 strategy. The Projects Coordinator will work with the Projects Team and the EuroVelo Team to help deliver Horizon Europe, Interreg and Erasmus+ financed projects, but also help boost and maintain our ability to apply for project funding. Tasks include project management, reporting, researching project funding calls for proposals, assisting the Projects Team with collecting and organising consortia input for project calls, and assisting with administrative and technical requirements. The Projects Coordinator will work closely with our Projects Director and Policy and Development Director for the fulfilment of their tasks. This is an entry-level position well suited for someone with one to two years of job or internship experience.

Specific responsibilities for the Projects Coordinator:

  • Support project development and bid writing for new projects
  • Support implementation of new procedures where needed for control and management of projects
  • Manage tasks and workflows within ECF’s projects
  • Control budgets and administrative processes within projects
  • Manage relationships with external project partners
  • Deliver tasks within projects as specified in project work plans
  • Project reporting and dissemination
  • Maintain overviews of ECF’s project portfolios for reporting to ECF managers and external stakeholders
  • Cooperate as needed with EU officials, European city networks, EuroVelo National Coordinators, ECF members and other stakeholders
  • Support the ECF policy team via your projects work
  • Other duties as agreed by the Projects Director
  • Assist the Projects Team with other tasks as needed

ECF offers an employment package in line with similar non-government organisations based in Brussels. Our package includes a 12 month contract with good prospects for extension, flexible working hours, 20 legal vacation and 10 extra-legal vacation days, cycling to work allowance, lunch vouchers and an extra legal pension scheme.

Who are we looking for?

  • A person with experience using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets who is confident with creating and managing project budgets and administrative and technical requirements that often come with projects, especially EU-funded projects
  • A fluent English speaker
  • A good communicator who writes clearly and has experiencing writing content for project bids
  • A highly organised person with excellent attention to detail, with interest and skills in financial management
  • A highly motivated individual with an open-minded, pro-active attitude and a willingness to learn
  • A person with strong ethical standards, ready to work in an international and multicultural environment
  • Someone who resides in Belgium and has the legal right to work in Belgium.
