POLITICO Europe is looking for an experienced reporterto cover the health care beat in Brussels.

At a crucial time in health care journalism we’re seeking a talented reporter to break news on topics from the latest coronavirus developments through to EU pharmaceutical regulation and digital health, and to find creative ways to tell agenda-setting stories. The ideal candidate will have a track record of both scoops and of high-impact enterprise reporting. They will be able to quickly develop deep sourcing in Brussels and to connect the action in national capitals, where many of the best stories about the EU’s power and limitations on health care issues are to be found.

The job is a full-time role based in our Brussels newsroom.


Responsibilities include:

  • Land scoops and original features, both for the subscription service and for POLITICO’s free-to-read website.
  • Anchor a health care policy subscription service, including contributing to a morning newsletter.
  • Be the face of POLITICO’s health care expertise at events and on broadcast media.


Qualifications:

  • Experienced reporter or correspondent
  • Demonstrable interest in European politics a must, though not necessarily experience reporting in Brussels
  • Fluent English-language writing skills
  • Experience covering health care, pharmaceuticals and science a strong plus
  • Knowledge of other European languages a strong plus
