The Solution Architect – TrendMiner Integration is part of the Customer Success team which works with the customers post-sales. You will be responsible for customer adoption and retention of our customer base by focusing on IT related technical topics such as deployment modes, network layouts and connectivity, enterprise data architecture and access security, cybersecurity, cloud best practices etc. that help customers make the right design decisions when implementing TrendMiner.

The Solution Architect – TrendMiner Integration will help reduce implementation risk, help customers future-proof their setups and reduce the time to value, which ultimately will contribute to drive usage, ensure satisfaction and identify growth opportunities.

You will interact and build relationships with customers to ensure they are plugged into all resources TrendMiner has to offer, all to ensure the customer is successful using the TrendMiner software.

Key responsibilities

• Define, build and support the required solution architecture of the TrendMiner platform integrated in our customer’s IT/OT landscape.
• Evaluate external data systems and business requirements to create the best connectivity layer design according to TrendMiner’s best practices
• Help customers integrate their data landscape into TrendMiner by implementing and configuring the various available connectivity options in practice. This includes the creation of queries to select the relevant data from the selected data sources.
• Create & document the data models that originate from the design discussions.
• Develop reference architectures and deployments, including (private) cloud setups and SaaS offerings
• Develop and maintain best practices in the setup of external connectivity between the TrendMiner platform and various data sources, for both time series and context (relational) data sources.
• Document, and educate both TrendMiner & Customer resources on system design to ensure long-term success
• Ensure customer setups adhere to (cyber)security standards, data access is controlled & implemented according to customer standards, and best practices are developed
• Continuously educate on emerging technologies and database (time series in particular) developments in the manufacturing industry, and share key insights and learnings with the broader CS team
• Team up with the CSM and engage sponsor level at customers to discuss futureproofing customer architecture
• Support the sales process by joining connectivity & architecture discussions, helping with the completion of RFI/RFP processes etc.
• Collaborate with R&D for product issues and gather customer requests to define requirements for future features in TrendMiner
• Drive internal improvement projects to continuously optimize our Customer Success approach

Required qualities

• Minimal level of education BSc in a technical study such as Computer Science or equivalent
• Strong background in IT with a particular focus on enterprise applications, database technologies, application and enterprise security for different deployment models including on-premise, cloud and SaaS
• Strong practical experience with Connectivity (protocols etc.) and query languages (SQL etc.)
• Have experience with the following technologies: Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, IPSEC), Virtualization, Linux, Identity Providers etc.
• General knowledge of authentication and authorization schemes such as Active Directory, SAML, OAuth, etc.
• General knowledge of and experience with AWS, Azure Cloud technologies, including SaaS deployments and data lake setups on these platforms
• General knowledge of emerging data lake technologies
• Knowledge of commonly used database access standards like ODBC
• Knowledge of process data historians (eg. OSIsoft PI, Aspentech IP.21, Honeywell PHD, GE Historian, Yokogawa Exaquantum) and data lake technologies is a strong plus
• Understanding of process industry (Chemical, Oil & Gas, Food & Bev, etc.) and the use of analytics in general
• Strong organizational/time/project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills that establish trusted advisor relationships with clients
• Motivational and inspirational personality with pro-active and hands-on attitude
• Customer focus, and a result-oriented attitude with strong work ethic and can-do mentality
• Value team results above personal praise
• Proficient in English, both speaking and writing. Additional languages are considered a plus.
• Willingness to occasionally travel to collaborate with customers
