Senior Java Front End Developer – Mechelen - Belgium

The role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that no one in the market is creating.

Responsibilities Will Include

• Collaborate with product owners, UX team, other application developers, and other teams to design, code, and maintain high-quality applications against established processes in a scrum team setting
• Work with software teams to ensure alignment of architecture to user requirements
• Able to lead complex investigation and resolution of technical problems within the department
• Implementation of bugfixes, improvements, and new stories

Preferred Background, Skills, And Experience

• Considerable knowledge and experience with Java and application servers (such
• as Wildfly)
• Considerable experience designing and implementing software quality patterns
• and practices (continuous integration, static analysis, unit testing, integration
• testing)
• Deep understanding of SOA, software security architecture, REST APIs, and
• other architectural patterns
• Proficient with source control management repositories (such as GIT, SVN, etc.) and CM practices
• Good understanding of object-oriented analysis and design
• Experience with Java web application development, CSS, javascript, …
• Vaadin experience is an advantage
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
• Demonstrated success in collaborating in a fast-paced team environment and delivering high-quality software products using established agile development methodologies (such as Scrum, Kanban, etc.) against formal schedules

• Experience with cloud technologies
• Experience with distributed event-driven architectures
• Possess proven troubleshooting skills
• Be curious, detail-oriented, and analytical, with a proven ability to learn quickly
• Be customer-focused, end-user-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasks
• Have proven ability to self-manage, as well as manage interdisciplinary relationships
• Have proven verbal and written communication skill
• Typically requires significant experience with a bachelor’s degree; or extensive experience and a master’s degree; or a PhD with considerable experience.
