The post is located in Brain l’Alloud, Belgium.

The role:

The mission of NDW is to empower NATO employees with the services and tools to digitally connect, communicate and collaborate. This newly created role will be part of the Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) services team who are enabling NATO and NATOs’ nation staff to communicate effectively. The System Administrator will be the SME for Skype for Business and eventually MS Teams within NATO.

The System Administrator will provide expertise for collaboration tools primarily based on Microsoft Skype for Business and/or Teams having taking responsibility for their lifecycle from deployment, maintenance and decommission across NATO. The Support Technician will also support the Day-to-day administration and monitoring of NATO’s centralized e-mail environment. Part of an international team the System Administrator will provide 2 nd and 3 rd level support of troubleshooting, evaluating and responding to incidents and service requests for Skype for Business, e-mail environment and in time MS Teams.

About you:

You have a strong team ethic and a curiosity and willingness to learn. You have great analytical and trouble shooting skills, able to speak your mind as well as listen to other, you also have:

  • At least 3 years of recent experience in the technical management and day-by-day support of a large Skype for Business infrastructure or Microsoft Teams services in enterprise environment
  • Detailed knowledge and proven working experience of Microsoft Windows Server Systems (2016/2019) in multi-forest environment
  • Working knowledge of directory services such as Active Directory, and DNS
  • Sound knowledge of TCP/IP based networks and related protocols
  • Working knowledge of enterprise level email systems based on Microsoft Exchange infrastructure
  • Practical experience of Windows scripting and the Skype for Business Management Shell;
  • Good understanding of LAN security, Internet security and protection mechanisms;
  • Experience in Incident and Problem Management
  • Microsoft certification in Microsoft Skype for Business or M365 services
  • Experience in management of non-Microsoft Unified Collaboration products
  • Sound knowledge of network troubleshooting techniques, including packet inspection
  • ITIL Foundation certificate
