Application Designer for Funds

Division

The GBS division ensures Euroclear’s competitiveness by delivering reliable and sustainable IT solutions for the financial securities markets.

Our technical teams deliver new IT solutions and improve existing applications for both our internal and external clients. We deploy changes into the production environment in a controlled and structured way that doesn’t compromise production stability and we ensure applicative production support.

Our non-technical people maintain the maturity of the IT project delivery with appropriate controls in line with the group’s risk appetite and reducing development and running costs.

The Funds Roadmap gives the opportunity to work on a group Platform supporting services for several Euroclear entities (EB, ESES, EUI and ES). You will integrate a dynamic team working in a fast-changing environment.

The recent acquisition of the MFEX group, a leading global digital fund distribution platform, is seen as a boost to our company’s growth trajectory in the Funds business to become a leading provider of fund services. In that context, you will be assigned on projects that will contribute to further expand our client service offering.

Job

• Provides application software development services or technical support typically in a defined project

• Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications

• Codes, tests, debugs, documents, implements and maintains software applications

• Analyzes requirements, and maintains, tests and integrates application components

Your role:

As part of a project team, you will contribute to deliver new features or modify existing ones in the Fund Order domain through the role of application design analyst.

Key elements of the role will involve design, development and support of applications, interacting closely with the business & IT community. You should be capable of operating autonomously and without close supervision on design, programming and maintenance activities.

To be successful, you will have to:

• Undertake systems designs and may contribute to the supervision and/or validation of the development process, using allocated colleagues as necessary for detailed analysis and coding activities.
• Design applications in line with the required business and operational requirements, while being compatible with the enterprise wide architectural and design guidelines.
• Ensure the correct translation of the business requirements and operational constraints into a structured and efficient set of functional and data models.
• Lead the process of detailed design.
• Responsible for the quality review of the functional and technical design delivered by less experienced designers
• May produce program specifications for complex or critical applications and be in charge of the quality review of the coding, testing and debugging of these programs
• May contribute to the improvement of standards for the application design function
• Likely to have direct interaction with programmers but the programmers may formally report into someone else or the programming activity may be outsourced
• Undertake analysis and validates the outcome of the coding and testing tasks, working within a team. May occasionally undertake programming and unit testing activities for complex and/or critical programs
• May provide detailed budget and workload estimates for new application development activities or may have to validate estimates made for outsourced activities
• Supports the testing teams (problem analysis and bug fixing) during the testing phases of projects
• May support application software running in production by fixing problems and making enhancements
• May lead small, lower-risk projects, such as stand-alone systems or functionality enhancements for existing systems
• May receive an application ownership role (AO). This means that he will become the point of contact for any questions/support that is needed in the scope of this application.

Profile

• Good knowledge of .NET development platforms and execution environments (C#, VB.NET, .NET Framework, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Web Forms, WCF, Entity Framework, LINQ, Javascript, Jquery, AJAX, Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, ...)
• Good knowledge of relational databases, preferably SQL Server, as well as related tools
• Good analytical skills and critical thinking skills (evaluate multiple options to settle on a solution)
• Strong communication skills: present information clearly and concisely (orally and in written), provide regular information on status and issues
• Strong organizational skills
• Build constructive relationships and communicate efficiently with all stakeholders (IT, Operations, Partners…)
• Manage changes and conflicting priorities while sticking to deadlines
• Share knowledge and expertise with others
• Work independently as well as in team
• Able to write and complete documents in a clear/structured way
• Eager to learn and interested in new technologies
• Meticulous in your work

• Fluent in spoken and written English

Assets:

• Familiar with Waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Experience of working with outsourcing partners & offshoring
• Knowledge of the Funds Domain
