The Carrefour Customer and Market Insights (CMI) department delivers a compelling and consistent customer value proposition by capitalizing on our customer data and touch points.

The Customer Insights (CI) Team within CMI translates business strategies and objectives into analytical requirements and measurements. The CI team identifies those commercial actions leading to better customer experience, commercial dynamics and profits. Based on those results it provides advice to (top) management.

The mission of the CI Team is to enable strategic decisions based on customer data analysis

and interpretation. It does so using regular and advanced statistics, Machine Learning and Data Science algorithms.

The mission of the Junior Data Scientist is to translate data into customer insights to support strategic decisions and make recommendations.

Mission

You use basic visualization techniques (eg: slides) as well as advanced ones (eg: dashboarding tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc) to capture customer insights within Carrefour data.

You present your conclusions and discuss them with multi-functional project teams or colleagues, such as Marketing, Loyalty, E-commerce, Merchandise, Stores, Finance, etc.

Your analyses are descriptive and for predictive analyses you work closely together with the CI Data Scientists hence you support the business and management with clear and insightful analyses on the data at hand

You translate business requirements into data requirements and collaborate closely with the CI data engineer(s) and IT department responsible for the automation of the data pipelines within the Big Data environment.

You use existing dashboards as well as help deploying new ones.

You have a variety of contacts with the other Customer Intelligence departments, the IT Team and other business stakeholders within the Carrefour BE organization.

You are within CI a key player in the deployment of new strategic projects driven by data insights.

You take part in regular technical trainings meant to improve coding skills, modelling skills, analytical skills, business understanding and team best practices.

You support CI, CMI and IT in data quality improvements, datamart constructions, and migrations to state-of-the-art data platforms. You help test new working tools and processes.

Studies & Experience :

You have a Master’s degree in commercial engineering or equivalent

You have proven communication and interpersonal skills to discuss with a variety of stakeholders

You have strong oral and written communication and presentation skills

You have experience with data techniques and know very well how to use data and data visualization techniques to enable decision making. SQL practice is a must.

You ideally have experience in the retail sector. Interest for customer behavior is a must.

You have good mastery of English as well as French and/or Dutch
