Product Designer

As a dynamic member of the Hard Side Design team in a multinational environment, you will be mainly responsible for supporting all stages of the product development cycle from concept through realisation.

You will build and maintain an excellent relationship with the Product Managers, the Product Development team, external suppliers and any other internal and external involved parties.

The ideal candidate will:

• Translate conceptual ideas into preliminary design prototypes and ensure that sketches, mock-ups, prototypes and supporting communication material are made and available within timelines to the design, development and marketing teams.
• Contribute to long term innovation projects and short term NDP Projects.
• Create and generate new product concepts, design styles, colour palettes, graphics, illustrations and material based on marketing brief’s dedicated to hard side and hybrid solutions.
• Continuously investigate innovative ideas, materials and processes.
• Prepare technical files in 2D and 3D for product sampling and development.
• Prepare design packages and presentations.
• Carefully follow up on projects in cooperation with the Project Manager, the Product Managers, the Purchasing Manager, the Quality Manager and any involved suppliers.
• Prepare and make clear, persuasive presentations for team meetings and monthly product development meetings.
• Constantly seek inspiration and innovation through attending fairs and design/fashion shows, looking for trendsetters, going to libraries, reading magazines, visiting suppliers for materials and new techniques to implement them in new and innovative products.

Applicants should ideally:

• Have a strong portfolio and a good sense of colours.
• Have excellent knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop,
• Have a good knowledge of 3D-Cad and rendering (knowledge Rhinoceros + Keyshot is a plus)
• Show strong sketching and creative skills.
• Be highly interested in product design, the fashion industry and other trend sensitive items.
• Be open to travel locally and globally to help implement dedicated projects in cooperation with the company’s subcontractors.
• Continuously pay strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Think out of the box.
• Be pro-active and show problem-solving skills
• Show the ability to perform well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
• Be proficient in English.
• Have excellent organizational and computer skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt to a multicultural environment.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a strong team player.
• Be loyal to the company.
