We, at Altissia, are on the hunt for a talented and experienced Technical Director to lead our software engineering team and help us build great products. If you want to join an international and fast-growing digital language learning company, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for!

As Technical Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all software development plans from ideation to operations and managing our technical team while, at the same time, setting goals, budgets, and timelines for various IT projects. You’ll also manage our infrastructure and ensure all systems operate securely and effectively.

Your mission

· Oversee front-end and back-end development engineers, provide guidance and support for complex feature or architectural change implementation;

· Monitor reliability and performance of all systems and suggest improvements;

· Ensure compliance with security regulations;

· Manage, with the help of technical leads, software development silos by ensuring guidelines, good practices and architectural choices are made;

· Prepare and manage the engineering department’s budget;

· Design strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources and communicate vision and strategy at all levels;

· Hire engineers, coordinate their training, and manage their career expectations;

· Coordinate with external stakeholders and partners for new integrations and tools;

· Review and update policies relevant to internal systems and equipment;

· Manage vendor selection and follow-up;

· Help the Product department by providing technical expertise and assess high level feature complexity;

· Provide process guidance and best practice on Agile / Scrum methodology but also DevOps philosophy and Software lifecycle;

· Be involved in auditing processes (ISO9001);

· Manage IT Support Services with the help of our IT Support to ensure business continuity in our office (storage, network, hardware, vpn);

Your profile

  • BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field
  • Work experience as a technical director or in a similar senior-level position at an IT department
  • Extensive experience with cloud technologies (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Gitlab CI, GCP)
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge in back-end (Java or Kotlin) and front-end (Swift, Kotlin, Angular) development
  • Infrastructure knowledge (network, storage, vmware, vpn)
  • Good understanding of agile methodologies
  • Leadership abilities with a strategic mind
  • Good project management skills
