Global Data Migration Expert

The Global Data Migration Expert is responsible for the successful execution of proof of concept and pilot projects with each new release of the Agfa HealthCare IT migration solutions, and for the delivery of expert support/troubleshooting activities in case of issues encountered by end-users when using these solutions.

It is a business-critical role which enables our global professional services team to officially release new migration strategies, new software versions, and new tools, to guarantee the quality of our solutions and to secure the satisfaction of our end-users.

The candidate will actively contribute to and will be accountable for the quality of our solutions and will build an excellent work relationship with the development team, with the support teams and with the end-users to establish trust and to support strategic customer initiatives.

The Global Data Migration Expert will directly report to the Manager of Global Professional Services organization, who is located at Agfa HealthCare headquarter (Mortsel, Belgium).

Your role as Global Data Migration Expert is to:

  • Deliver expert technical support (troubleshooting, create and document issues, engage with development team) in a timely manner to the users of the Agfa HealthCare IT migration solutions.
  • Analyze, report and document bugs and feature requests related to global migration solutions and contribute to the discussions about their prioritization.
  • Review bugs/fixes, design changes and new features added to the global migration solutions to assess risks/impact and identify a way to navigate the end-users through the issues that they encounter.
  • Identify and qualify proof of concept and pilot projects to test/validate innovations, to adequately cover a new migration strategy, a significant design change, or a new capability of the Agfa HealthCare IT migration solutions.
  • Coordinate, support, and drive completion of all proof of concept and pilot project steps for the global migration solutions (strategies, software, and tools), efficiently communicate with the relevant stakeholders, and provide accurate status updates.
  • Collect/anonymize relevant datasets from pilot projects to reproduce issues and test their resolution in a lab environment.
  • Identify/assess quality risks, document best practices and all identified constraints, FAQ, known limitations, issues and workarounds.
  • Continuously feed into and shape our migration processes, documentation, training, strategies and tools with your insights, experience, and passion to enhance and evolve the services and the solutions we can offer.
  • Continuously meet or exceed the quality standards, as we are working in a Healthcare environment.

Education

A degree in IT, electronics, software engineering or equally skilled through experience.

Experience

3 years of experience as migration analyst, migration architect, system integration engineer or verification & validation engineer, preferably in a medical IT environment.

Experience with the IT standards (e.g. SQL, XML) and knowledge of TCP/IP, along with other networking protocols such as NFS, CIFS, FTP, etc.

Experience with the HL7 and DICOM standards, as well as with the IHE integration profiles are a plus.

Experience with VMware and Cloud technologies.

Specific skills

Familiar with software engineering and with the most recent ICT developments: Enterprise Application Integration, Web, Operating Systems (Windows, Linux), Relational Databases (Oracle, SQL Server), multi-tier architectures, platform virtualization, cloud computing.

Familiar with IT systems, networking services and infrastructure.

Solid problem solving and analytical skills; able to quickly digest any issue/problem encountered and recommend an appropriate solution.

Fluent in English both orally and in writing. Knowledge of other languages (Dutch, French or German) is an advantage.

Ability to communicate information and ideas so others with different skill/background will understand, good presentation skills.
